Petite Salon Show Fall 2023
Experience the Petite Salon show representing the Fall 2023 collection
'Tailoring has an effortless feel this season with textured wool providing a slightly crumpled surface to a double cuff blazer and matching dress. Classic sartorial details – such as raw edges and bias-cut silhouettes – are reworked, resized and relaxed to bring modernity and ease. Houndstooth check, the eternally chic pattern of choice, is supersized and revised in shiny lurex jacquard to modernise a single-breasted coat or statement dress. Not to mention the “sleeve-ography” – as the team refers to it – which permeates the collection.'

Winter nights in Scandinavia are long and dark but the short cold days
can be bright and sunny, giving a contrasting burst of positivity and colour. It is these transient and beautiful moments that inspired Rabens Saloner to create a collection that celebrates optimism and explores the contrasts between dark and light, transparent and opaque, formal and informal.

Rabens Saloner FALL23
A moody palette of midnight blue, forest green and bitter chocolate are
thrown into relief when flashes of mandarin and purple appear whilst soft neutrals add a much-needed sense of warmth. Classic sartorial details and silhouettes are reworked, resized and relaxed to bring modernity and ease to clothes that have an unmistakable air of nonchalant cool, whilst fabrics are utilised to contrast textures but also to surprise when used in unexpected ways.
Tailoring has an easy feel this season with a textured wool giving a slightly crumpled surface to a double cuff blazer and matching dress. Raw edges appear on a fine felt kaftan and a cardigan-soft double-breasted version in velvet is cropped, both giving a relaxed attitude that is contemporary and urban. Double-faced wool is worked into a coat with oversized collar and sleeves that are pulled into shape to fit the body perfectly. Faux shearling is patchworked with nylon to create a striking jacket and coat that play with the contrasts between luxury and utility. Elsewhere a checkerboard quilted nylon is functional in a warm jacket and unexpectedly stylish in a flounce-sleeve top and skirt. Houndstooth check - the eternally chic favorite - is supersized and reworked in shiny lurex jacquard to make a single-breasted coat or statement dress that are totally modern. And another winter wardrobe staple - a checked fringed scarf - is exaggerated into a wrap skirt, boxy jacket and all-enveloping cape.
Rabens Saloner’s signature tie-dye and hand-painted prints also play
with the contrast between pattern and plain and with dark and light. Soft brushstrokes are pushed to the very edge of a bias cut dress whilst shadow stripes ripple across jersey t-shirts and wide loose pants. Bolder and more sporty, lighting-strikes of colour flash down a long shift dress or along the seams of track pants. More stripes - this time in the form of classic mens shirting - appear in shirts and dresses that mix different scales to give a graphic but unconventional appearance that undermines any sense of formality.
Finally, when the winter sun sets and the brief respite from the cold has gone, what better way to enjoy the chilly evening than be wrapped in an oversized mohair blend sweater or slouchy cardigan: after all, the darker moments should be enjoyed as much as the brighter ones.
