The knot that can't just be untied

Breast cancer is not just a lump women get in the breast. It is a lump that, as it grows, slowly takes over entire families, couples and precious relationships.

The fact is that when a woman is affected by breast cancer, she is not "just" a woman. She is often someone's mother, someone's wife, someone’s girlfriend, someone's daughter, someone's best friend and like so many other fatal diseases, breast cancer still, unfortunately, is taboo to talk about and causes gaps between people who are terrified of losing their loved ones.

Having experienced this in her own encounter with breast cancer, Birgitte Raben Olrik is determined to do something about it. Together with Danish Cancer Society, Birgitte has designed two styles that, when purchased, donate all profits to research, prevention and patient support within breast cancer.

The campaign focuses on relationships, because everyone is affected by breast cancer or potential breast cancer - not only the person with the lump. An effective way to save lives when it comes to breast cancer is to check yourself for lumps in your chest and/or have your doctor do it.  The entire family and the woman's circle of friends can help focus on checking the breasts for lumps. Anyone who loves a woman, be it a father, a boyfriend, an adult son, daughter or best friend can potentially save lives by talking openly about getting checked for lumps and bringing attention to this horrible disease.

Supporting the breasts is an important matter, it is something that concerns us all, in one way or another. By buying a sweatshirt or a pair of leggings, you are supporting the breasts. When we stand together, we can make a difference.

The profit in full will go uncut to The Danish Cancer Society

The knot you can't just untie. When Birgitte was diagnosed with breast cancer, it really affected me. I was SO upset. Partly because it was quite a process she had to go through. And also because I had almost only just finished my own treatment. Today we are both declared cancer-free.
My cool friend. We enjoy life and are very humble.

Becoming a mom has made me see my breast in a new way. Breasts should be all about life and joy and not the opposite! Let's remind each other and stand together against breast cancer. For all women and the ones to come.

I was shocked to hear that Denmark is one of the countries in the world with the most cases of breast cancer. We can and must do something about that! When we stand together, it can be felt.

The knot you can't just untie. I wish it were so, but far too many people do not discover the lumps and then it may be too late. It not only has
unmanageable consequences for the victim, but for everyone around. Let's decide that we have a shared responsibility so that we find the lumps in time. When we stand together, it can be felt.

The knot you can't just untie. I have many friends who have had breast cancer. Thank God most people are doing well. But the roller coaster they have experienced, they 100% would like to have been without. It is important to be aware of, it helps us that we get a reminder once in a while. That's why I'm here.
When we stand together, it can be felt.

The knot you can't just untie. Breast cancer is still one of the most devastating diseases that can happen to a woman but it doesn’t only affect the person diagnosed and in reality sends out ripples of suffering and anxiety amongst partners, relatives and friends too. It also means that we all have a responsibility to stand together and not only support those we love who suffer from breast cancer but also to work towards a cure. For this reason we were proud to do a bit of amateur modeling with our good friend Rikke Hertz and support the Rabens x Breast Cancer campaign. Read more about it on @rabenssaloner and www.rabenssaloner.com When we stand together, it can be felt.

This is as important as the woman herself, as the Mother earth we all come from. With closeness, love and care, we must stand together and remind each other of the importance of this. Cancer can affect us all, both on our own body and on our loved ones. That is why it is important to stand together. Because when we stand together, it can be felt.
