Rabens Saloner is a house built upon garments and relationships of lasting value and responsible production. Process is based on creative, inquisitive experimentation and an instinctive connection between people and nature.
Many of our Indonesian artisan collaborators and their family businesses have been with us since day one.
Rather than working from Pantone cards, colour references might be a tree trunk or a sun-bleached deck chair, and unexpected shades pop up depending on whether fabrics are dried on the grass or hanging in the sun. Similarly, things lost in translation or happy accidents sometimes result in beautiful patterns.
The one-of-a-kind nature of our unique tie-dye pieces minimises fabric waste and we aim for our stores to be plastic-free zones.
Website orders are shipped in rice bag-like packaging that doubles as a tote bag made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
“I like the idea that everything you bring into your home is something that can be used again and again. It’s been vital for me that our web shop has sustainable quality packaging,” creative director Birgitte Raben notes.
